Iedereen heeft recht op leven, ook ongeboren kinderen
Verslag van de Mars voor het Leven - 10 december 2011
Vandaag is weer de jaarlijkse mars voor het leven gehouden in Den Haag. Opmerkelijk was dat de deelnemers uit alle denominaties van kerkelijk Nederland aanwezig waren. De sjofar werd geblazen om 13.00 uur, waarna Astrid Mechielsen de bijeenkomst toe sprak door te vertellen dat ze zelf een abortus had ondergaan en wat dat met haar had gedaan. “Het was geen oplossing maar een begin van een groot probleem” vertelde ze met haar zoontje op haar arm. Waarna kinderen ballonnen oplieten.
Geweldig dat er elk jaar steeds meer mensen mee lopen met de mars als een stille schreeuw om het leven van vele kinderen die niet geboren mochten worden, meldde dhr Dorenbos van stichting Schreeuw om Leven, waarvoor we de Heere dankbaar zijn. “We gaan niet voor strakkere regels maar voor afschaffing van abortus”. Mevrouw Dorenbos vertelde dat Schreeuw om Leven Hulpverlening hulp verleent aan vrouwen en meisjes die een abortus overwegen of een abortus achter de rug hebben. “Via de speciale Bijbelstudie ‘Vergeven en Bevrijd’ mogen we wijzen op de vergevende Liefde van de Heere Jezus Christus”
Verschillende sprekers van bevriende organisatie spraken hun adhesie uit, waaronder Christenen voor de Waarheid en Hulp vervolgde Christenen, evenals sprekers uit België, Duitsland, Frankrijk, Noorwegen, Amerika, Zweden. Dr. P.P. Job uit India, met wie Schreeuw om Leven samenwerkt, riep op om te luisteren naar de kerstboodschap waar de Johannes met zes maanden opsprong in de moederschoot toen Maria, net in verwachting van Jezus, op bezoek kwam. Dr. Job waarschuwde “dat als Nederlanders geen kinderen wilden ons land straks een moslim president zal hebben”.
Abortus ontneemt een kind het recht op leven, was de meest centrale boodschap die steeds weer terug kwam. Twee moeders uit Amerika, die een abortus hadden gehad verwoorden kort, krachtig en emotioneel de gevolgen waar ze jarenlang mee te kampen hebben gehad, zowel, lichamelijk, emotioneel relationeel en geestelijk. Nu , na hun bekering, trekken ze met de organisatie Operation Outcry de wereld rond om iedereen te vertellen dat abortus nooit de oplossing is.
Om 14.00 uur begon de Mars door het centrum van Den Haag. Een stille tocht die alleen al door de rust opviel bij het winkelend publiek dat massaal bleef staan kijken. Velen zullen zich misschien wel verwonderd hebben afgevraagd: kan dit ook? Na terugkomst op het plein waren er nog enkele sprekers waaronder Cees van der Staaij van de SGP en Joël Voordewind van de ChristenUnie. Beide spraken uit dat ze bemoedigd waren door de grote opkomst van mensen die opkomen voor het leven en de noodzaak om de abortusproblematiek bespreekbaar te maken in de Tweede Kamer. Jacques Brunt van Heartcry en Zoeklicht-jongeren sloot af met een krachtige oproep om voorbidders te zijn voor ons land en volk.
Bijna 1500 mensen hebben de weg naar het Plein in Den Haag weten vinden. Ook de politie was ruim vertegenwoordigd echter deze hoefde op een klein incident na niet op te treden. [ English ]

Everyone has the right to life, even unborn children
The annual March for Life was held in The Hague, the Netherlands. Participants from various denominations attended.
The shofar was blown at 1 o’clock, introducing post-abortive Astrid Mechielsen. She told the Marchers what her abortion had done to her. "It was not a solution, but the beginning of a big problem," she spoke with her son on her arm. After her welcome, blue balloons flew up to the sky.
Every year more and more people participate in the March for Life. Thus spreading the truth and raising a silent cry in remembrance of the lives of the large number of children who are not allowed to be born, said Mr. Dorenbos of Schreeuw om Leven/Cry for Life. In his prayers he thanked the Lord for the possibility of this rally. "We're not going for stricter rules, but we are called to advocate the abolition of abortion." Dorenbos said.
His wife leads the Cry for Life help center, which provides counseling to women and girls who considering an abortion or are post-abortive. The Scripture based course Forgiving and Free helps hurt woman through the forgiving love of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Speakers expressed their support from organizations Christians for Truth and HVC. Speakers from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, France, Sweden, India and the United States addressed the crowd. Key note speaker Dr. P.P. Job from India, directed us to the Christmas message by telling of John the Baptist who jumped in the womb in gladness at the age of six months when Mary, just expecting Jesus, came to visit his mother Elizabeth. Dr. Job warned that soon the Dutch will be nominating a Muslim president, owing to the declining birthrates in Europe.
Abortion denies a child the right to life, was the echoing message. Two post-abortive mothers from the United States America witnessed of the emotional consequences for years in which they suffered, physically, emotionally, relationally and spiritually. Now, after their conversion, they move with organization Operation Outcry around the world to tell the world that abortion is never the solution.
At 14.00 o'clock the March started off through the center of The Hague. The silent March caught the attention of shoppers who stood by watching, impressed by the dignified atmosphere spread by the March. After returning to the square the Dutch politicians Cees van der Staaij of the SGP and Joel Voordewind of the CU spoke, clearly encouraged by the large number of people who stood up for life, furthering the need for attention of discussing the abortion issue in the Parliament. Evangelist Jacques Brunt ended with a powerful call from the Scriptures to be intercessors for our country and people.
The organizers were pleased with the growing number of Marches in the Netherlands. An estimated number of 1.400 people participated.
The police were well prepared and had to deal with small incidents caused by counter protestors prior the March.
